Fishing Reports

Just got off the water and am sitting down to a little turkey on wheat action. Last Tuesday evening we saw our fish making a mass exodus towards shallow waters, and as of this morning, they are still there. In low light conditions, we're fishing docks/rocks/ rip rap in 3-5ft of water, and dumping off to 12-15ft as the sun comes up. We're fishing jigs on 1/8thoz and 1/16thoz jig heads, with number two red sickle hooks. All fish are being caught on Thump Buddies found at www.lightsouttackle.com and Slab Bandits found at www.crazyanglertackle.com. We're using White Hot and CR Special Thump Buddies, and River Cane Slab Bandits.

As far as technique goes, we're keeping our baits within a foot of the bottom, so as to really irritate some very hormonal males. We're fishing hard and fast, not stopping on a spot for longer than thirty seconds to a minute, before moving on if no fish are caught. For dock fish, we are shooting our jigs in the darkest water we can find under the pier.

Chuck and I each finished with close to sixty fish this morning, which was one heck of a good time. Here are some pictures from the last few days. Notice the war paint!
